Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG)

Important: COJG is currently paused. The Ontario Ministry of Labour put the Canada-Ontario Job Grant under ministerial review in November 2025. No resumption date has been announced as of April 2026. If you're an Ontario employer looking to fund employee training right now, this page covers what's actually available in the meantime.

Common questions

When will COJG come back?
No public timeline as of April 2026. The Ministry of Labour describes the pause as a review of program design and administration. We update this page when the situation changes. Bookmark it or get a free report and we'll match you to whatever's active when COJG returns.
What replaces COJG for Ontario employers right now?
The provincial Skills Development Fund (SDF) Training Stream funds employer-sponsored training. Federally, the Sectoral Workforce Solutions Program funds workforce training in priority sectors. Both have application processes and timing very different from COJG.
I started a COJG application before the pause. What happens?
Applications submitted before the pause are being processed on the Ministry's revised timeline. Call 1-800-387-5656 for status. Approved agreements signed before the pause are being honoured.
